Acadian Ambulance Honored at State Awards Luncheon

Acadian Ambulance and some of their team members had been honored at an awards luncheon at Paragon Casino in Marksville, LA.

The luncheon was held in the middle of The Louisiana Association of Nationally Registered Emergency Healthcare Technicians and the Louisiana Ambulance Alliance s three-day educational conference. The conference was titled to correlate with this years National EMS Week theme: A single Mission. A single Team.

Acadian submitted candidacy to three categories and took home awards for all 3. Acadian Ambulance was awarded Service Provider of the Year, even though Tina Jewison and Steven Cope took house Paramedic of the Year and Administrator of the Year, respectively. Jewison is a paramedic in Baton Rouge and has been with Acadian for 13 years. Cope has also been with Acadian for 13 years, and recently relocated from Acadians Baton Rouge operations to South Central Texas, exactly where he is operations manager.

In addition to the accolades, a special presentation was held in honor of EMT Mark McBride, who passed away in Might. McBride joined Acadian in 2005, and served on the board of the Louisiana Association of Nationally Registered EMTs. He was also a member of the Capital Area EMT Association.
