Friendship Academy Students Show Creativity By means of Murals

Regional Pittsburgh artist Alison Zapata spent a number of weeks with students at The Watson Institute Friendship Academy generating a series of murals depicting Pittsburgh scenes and icons. As the respective themes for each mural came together, Alison guided the students via the procedure to turn their visions into reality. Stellars primary role is to aid school districts across the United States (specifically KS, MO, IL, TN, GA, MS, & FL) apply for and receive funding through the Federal Qualified Zone Academy Bonds (QZAB) program (http://www.qzab.org).

Each state has millions of dollars available with most being currently unclaimed. This funding is first come, first served and may not exist in the future if left unused or not utilized according to the Federal requirements.
